Senior Digital Learning Developer,
Durham University
As a senior member of the digital learning team, I have a leadership role within the department, and help to plan, prioritise and project manage for the team. I am also responsible for fostering a community focused on digital development and its scholarship across the University.
As a developer, I advise on the pedagogy and design of online education material, and produce high quality learning experiences for students and staff.
Digital Learning Developer,

As a member of the digital learning team, I advise on the pedagogy and design of online education material. I work with academic and professional services staff to plan, produce and project manage the production of online learning.
As a member of a small team, I also co-design the processes and procedures that we follow as a team, embedding accessibility, flexibility and quality in our work. I am also an active member of the wider DCAD community, and take part in development and scholarship activities. I have recently taken on the co-ordination of the DCAD Development Events Group.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust
This role involved interim management of the technology enhanced learning team during a period of change in the department.
I directed the improvement of processes across our multiple workstreams, and provided leadership and guidance to the whole team, including directly line managing five staff members. My tenure in this role saw improvements in relationships, communication and collaboration, with developments in whole team practices and an optimistic view of the future of the department.
I returned to my role as Senior Learning Technologist after this six month secondment.
Senior Learning Technologist,
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust
As part of the senior team within Digital Learning & Media at The Christie, I directly line managed two learning technologists and provided support and guidance to junior staff across the rest of the team, including deputising for the Digital Learning Manager when necessary.
I worked on a range of programmes across various projects, working with SMEs and project leads to develop learning objectives, plan learning and produce interactive learning and other media. This role was eclectic and required a flexible skill set and educational and technical expertise.
I led on the maintenance and administration of the Moodle LMS systems in use, providing expert consultancy on the support, capabilities and maintenance of the systems.
Locality Trainer – Midlands and North Wales, Victim Support
I delivered face to face training on a range of subjects related to crime, criminal justice and emotional support to staff and volunteers who ranged in age from 18 to 75.
Subjects included safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, sexual violence, support skills, domestic abuse, criminal justice processes, equality and diversity and working with young people. I also wrote and developed training for face-to-face delivery.
I was selected to undertake a concurrent role of e-learning designer due to my previous background in graphic and web design. I was subsequently involved in developing and testing award-winning national e-learning programmes from
specification and first concept, through to upload and go-live.

MA Digital Technologies, Communication and Education (Distinction)
I completed the MA part-time over three years, and was awarded a Distinction based on my grade for both individual modules and my dissertation.
The taught modules have developed my expertise in pedagogy, digital literacies, learning design and multimedia development, and my capacity to conduct research in education.
My dissertation was project-based, and comprised the design, development and evaluation of an online community of practice space for radiologists with an interest in PET/CT scan reporting.

BA Communication and Mass Media (Distinction)
My first degree was studied full-time. Subjects included history of media, psychology, sociology, marketing and advertising.
